About Me

I am the product of these two beautiful people pictured below. Richard and Gizella had me on October 17th, a 5 lb 7 oz baby boy. I am a Libra, if you follow the zodiacs. My mom was not able to have children, but as a surprise there I was.

I grew up and discovered my love for being creative at an early age. I was always drawing, sketching, coloring as much as I could. All the kids I grew up with down my block still remember my drawing clubs I created. I am sure they got tired of me forcing them to draw, but it was a lot of fun to see what they would come up with.

I still draw like this.

When I was fifteen, I discovered a love for photography. My dad had tons of photography equipment and one day I asked him to teach me how to take photos. We took the camera, which was a Cannon AE-1, a roll of film, and went to the nearest metro park. At that time I had a digital camera, but film was a whole new beast entirely.

I shot my first roll of film. I paid attention to the aperture, shutter speed, swapped out different lenses and did my best. We got the film developed the same day, and my dad was blown away by it. I was blown away by it! It was a black and white roll, and each shot was beautiful. I impressed myself. To this day it is still some of my best photo work.

I got my Associates degree in Graphic Design when I was 25. From there I went on to work in a different field, ending up being a recruiter for a major clothing retailer for 30 store locations. Working with people has always been a passion of mine, and I was able to do freelance design work in my spare time. I was happy to have a balance. This position taught me so much in time management, recruitment, and multitasking. It made me a better person overall.

I lost my dad and this was an eye opener for myself that life is too short. Was recruiting my passion, and what I wanted to do? Design was my passion, and the amount of time I was able to do it was not enough to make me happy. I made the decision to eventually go back to school to get turn my degree into a bachelors and I completed that in May, of 2020 from Cleveland State University.

Other facts about myself is I am a dog dad to a special Boston Terrier named Oscar. I have had him since he was 2 months old, and he is now 6. I have watched him grow from a crazy puppy destroying over a thousand dollars worth of my stuff, to being the best companion I could have asked for. I am a huge animal lover. I also love sustainability and educating people on being sustainable. Working for some of the companies I have worked for I have seen efforts in the right direction, but I think there is so much more left to do. I truly feel graphic design can help educate in this movement going forward.

Me giving Oscar some love. I swear he likes me.

I am a creative, team driven but also independent designer, who knows that learning never stops. If you are not learning something new daily, you are not growing and as a designer I strive to learn something new as often as possible. In an industry such as design that is constantly changing and evolving, it is important to consistently educate yourself on these changes.
